Traffic & Income Report for October 2014

Vector financial business planWelcome to my 8th Traffic & Income Report for the month of October 2014. This has been an awesome month and hard work has definitely paid off. You’ll notice a jump in every report compared to last month September 2014. I started utilizing what I’ve learned over the last 4 months tweaking my traffic and content strategy. Even though I was not actively publishing content throughout this month, I started some real cool projects you’ll get a glimpse of next month.

It’s been a good month with higher profits, traffic and organic rankings. I’m just happy my effort is beginning to pay off and I continue to learn cool things along the way.

Let’s get started…

Content Created October 2014

October 2014 was a slow month for publishing content however I did start some cool new projects which I’ll publish for November 2014. I’m focusing more on providing in-depth tutorials which include a complete video series. This strategy has delayed the rate at which I publish content however your getting way more substance. (Hopefully you’ll agree next month)…

Here’s a quick breakdown…

We explored some features, pricing and the benefits to consumers, developers and businesses.

In the month of October 2014 I started to actively pursue more guest posting opportunities. For many years I understood the power of guest blogging on high authority relevant blogs to build brand awareness and traffic. I submitted “4” guest posts on the following blogs:

Problogger: 5 Crucial Link Building Strategies After Google Panda 4.1 – Discussing the changes in link building after Panda 4.1 rolled out.

BloggingTips: It’s Been 3 Years…What I Learned And What Works For Bloggers? – What I’ve learned after 3 years of blogging and discussed personal strategies.

Blogging Interviews October 2014

This part of my blog is doing really well with user engagement increasing each month specifically within this category. For October 2014, unfortunately NO new interviews were posted. In November 2014 you’ll notice a few cool interviews and more for the following month have been planned.

New Blog Features

Recently, I started adding epic case studies to my blog. These case studies offer an in-depth look into strategic link building. The main focus of my case studies is “ranking” either keywords or YouTube videos. I’m currently involved in building my very own PBN (private blog network) to rank “targeted” keywords to increase organic traffic. I’ve added it to my “Blog Features” section since it is a featured case study. You can read the overview here…

Top Traffic Sources October 2014

In October 2014 my main traffic source has shifted from MatthewWoodward.co.uk to ProBlogger.net. For the last several months Matthew Woodward’s monthly Income Roundup Report would provide enormous traffic to my blog. He still continues to bring in “targeted” traffic, however with more focus on “guest blogging” I’ve been able to drive traffic through other sources. For example, In October 2014 I was published on Darren Rowse’s blog – Problogger.net. He is a pioneer in the industry, maybe, the top 5 bloggers of all time. After being published 320 visitors were referred through my guest post on 5 Crucial Link Building Strategies After Google Panda 4.1.

My 2nd top traffic source was MatthewWoodward.co.uk and Income Roundup Report with 99 visitors. In 3rd was another “guest blog” posted on BloggingTips.com with 67 visitors.

Social Media Statistics October 2014

This month (October 2014) I’ve seen another jump in my social share click-backs. I’m beginning to figure out what it takes to increase user engagement and it has “everything” to do with writing unique high quality content. For example, when I started to put together my Private Blog Network Case Study, I noticed my visitors are reading more of my other content. Another factor which will increase social activity is to actually “share” your content on your profiles. I’ve been very lazy hoping others would handle creating a “buzz” for me. I’ve started to put some tools into place which I’m hoping will get people sharing more of my content.

Last month (September 2014) I received:  (1 share & 20 click-backs)

This month (October 2014) I received:  (5 shares & 30 click-backs)

Income Report October 2014

Let’s get to the fun stuff!

My affiliate commission keeps on increasing which is amazing. My Private Blog Network Case Study is continuing to build momentum and add some cash in my pocket.

The additional affiliate commission I’ve earned was through some of the products I’ve recommended to my readers when setting up their own private blog network or in other content.

A side note, I’ll review and create tutorial’s on products which I personally use and feel will help you guys. I will not encourage anyone to purchase products so that I can earn a commission. My content and tutorials are about growing your blog through hard work and dedication. When I review a product, it’s to show you how it’s helped me generate traffic to my blog or simplified the process of creating content.

SEO Consulting & Services

I’ve always provided consulting for clients and will continue to provide services throughout September 2014. I’ll keep the workload at minimum so I can focus on building this blog and income through my blog posts and affiliate partners. Later in November 2014 I’ll be officially adding a “Hire Me” tab to my blog so I can help people with some side projects like PBN’s, content writing, Web 2.0’s, etc.

I’ll only include the profit earned from new clients I’ve gained through this blog. Any existing consulting contracts I have will NOT be included in my monthly Income Reports.

My Final Thoughts…

My Final Thoughts…

October 2014 was a very busy month since I’m trying new things putting together case studies and video series. In order for you to succeed in blogging you have to tweak things and utilize the opportunities you have available. It’s about working harder and smarter at the same time. For example, I started looking for more guest posting opportunities because it can generate huge amounts of “targeted” traffic. However, don’t just guest post to build traffic to your personal blog but provide value to people on other niche related blogs. Each time I submit a guest post I ensure it’s as in-depth and valuable as the content I publish on my blog. It’s a great way to give back to the community of bloggers who have transformed the industry. Next,

Online Forums have always been intriguing especially since many bloggers have gained momentum through forum posts. I can think of “2” bloggers I follow everyday who have gained popularity through the traffic generated through forums. To check the legitimacy of forums for growth, I started to post regularly providing insight to people asking questions in various different threads. I must say the results have been intriguing and I’ll do a quick follow-up in about a month. I want a full 30 days of statistics to show you guys after I’m done.

I’m in the process of creating a video series which provides a step-by-step guide to successful blogging. However, the only difference is I’ll provide my own insight on what I’ve learned and how you can apply it to your business.

Thanks again for being loyal readers and stay tune for some awesome updates, content and case studies!
