Traffic & Income Report for March 2014

Welcome to my first official Income Report for my blog. I want to start my thanking Matthew Woodward for providing the inspiration in allowing me to create my first report. He has been a much needed mentor and MARCH_FEATURED_MAINprovided support to get my blog off the ground. I want to give Matthew two thumbs up for his success and continued support.

My blog was official started in January 2014 and it took me 2 months to put everything together. Going forward I’ll provide Traffic & Income Reports on the 1st of every month.  Some months you’ll notice that I’ve earned “zero” profit from my blog but the idea is to be completely transparent with all of you. When I starting I wanted to target new bloggers creating a blueprint on how they can create a profitable business.

We’ll grow together and I’ll provide a complete outline of the work I did every single month. Here’s what I’ll cover in my monthly reports…

  • Blog Posts in March 2014
  • New Blog Features
  • My Guest Posts & Traffic Statistics
  • Google Analytics Reports
  • Social Media Statistics
  • Forum Posts & Statistics
  • YouTube Traffic Statistics
  • Subscribers (Twitter, Facebook, Google+, YouTube Email)
  • Referral Commissions Earned
  • Final Profit & Loss Statement
  • Moving Forward & Final Thoughts

My plan is to keep every organized so it’s very easy to follow for all of you.  I would love your feedback in the comments so I can improve these reports in the future.

Let’s get started…

Guest Posts Published March 2014

No guest posts were submitted this month. I wasn’t pursuing guest posts for my blog since it was the first active month of publishing posts on my blog so I decided to create content myself to brand myself.

New Blog Features March 2014

There were two new features added during this month. I wanted to add features that would distinguish my blog from my competition. Even-though I put a lot of emphasis on creating quality content for my readers, it’s important to create uniqueness both in your content & on your blog.

Blog Interviews:

I reached out to successful bloggers in my niche to get their feedback on blogging and how to create a successful blog. My objective is to have my readers (including myself) learn from people with experience and pioneers in the blogging industry. Each one of my “bloggers” is well-known with a solid track record and making a full-time income with the exception of 1-2 who are working on many side projects.

In March 2014, I’ve published the following interview series…

Meet Brian Dean of

Meet Adam Connell of

Meet Nicole Beckett of

SEO with Matt Cutts:

I’ve learned a lot from Matt Cutts who is the head of Web Spam at Google. Several times a month I visit his blog and watch his videos to get an update into the recent changes that Google made to their search platform. Matt Cutts is a busy man so many times his videos are point form and short averaging 4-9 min. In the most recent video, Matt Cutts discusses the “Top 5 Biggest SEO Mistakes” in which he outlines the mistakes but didn’t provide solutions so I decided to elaborate on these videos.

Here is the first post of this series…

Secondly, I received a lot of direct traffic this month which could have been from repeat visitors.

Social Media Statistics

Forum Posts & Statistics

I wasn’t active in any forums in the month of March. This month I am putting together a forum case study which will be awesome. In April’s Income Report I’ll have some statistics to post here. 🙂

YouTube Traffic Statistics

These numbers are very low for YouTube views. I was hoping that the 3 videos I posted would have gained more traction. The statistics just tell me that I have to improve my videos so moving forward I’ll be making more videos in April hoping to improve my results.

Income Report March 2014

I know your focus is on this report but I’m afraid there’s not much to report this month (March 2014). I’ve just started my blog and am finally building momentum. I’m hoping that the traffic will convert into some income going forward. However, I want to be completely transparent and give you a list of affiliate programs I’m working with…

SEO Consulting & Services

I’ve always provided consulting for clients and will continue to provide services starting in May 2014. I’ll keep the workload at minimum so I can focus on building this blog and income through my blog posts and affiliate partners.

I’ll only include the profit earned from new clients I’ve gained through this blog. Any existing consulting contracts I have will NOT be included in my monthly Income Reports.

Expenses (March 2014)

  • Webhosting – $18/mo
  • Aweber – $19/mo
  • Domain – $0.91/mo
  • Kindle eBooks – $3.49/mo

Profit & Loss Statement (March 2014)

  • Profit – $3.00
  • Loss – $41.40
  • Monthly Income – (-)38.40

My Final Thoughts…

Well, there you have it! I’ve provided you with a complete breakdown of my statistics so you’ll have a better idea of what kind of progress my blog is making. I’m not surprised at the current progress since the blog has only been active for 2 months. This blog is a baby and it’s going to be awesome building it into a man.

Finally, I just want to give you guys a few words of advice before moving forward. Always keep your head up and stay focused because it’s the only way you’ll make progress. It’s important to stay consistent because if you don’t then in about two years you’re going to look back and be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do then by the things you did do.
