Traffic & Income Report for August 2014

Vector financial business planWelcome to my 6th Traffic & Income Report for the month of August 2014. In these reports I’ve summarized what I’ve done in the previous month. August 2014 was an exciting month because I started several cool features which I’ll discuss below. The traffic saw a slight increase which I’m very happy about and finally, the earnings keep on increasing getting higher each month. Even though it was a slight increase, it’s better than seeing a drop.

As always, I’m going to summarize everything I’ve done this month so you can implement these strategies into you’re blogging efforts.

I was delayed producing this Traffic & Income Report and I wanted to provide an explanation…

I’m currently working on a Private Blog Network Case Study which requires creating websites and content every week. I’m doing everything manually which is taking a lot of my time. Next, I’m hustling between creating content for my blog (, my PBN’s and Web 2.0 properties. It’s becoming very overwhelming but I’m managing quite well. Please accept my sincere apology! 🙂

Content Created August 2014

August 2014 was a very active month for publishing. Much of the content was a breakdown of my case studies however I mange to squeeze a few informative content. Here’s a quick breakdown…

Guest Posts Published August 2014

No guest posts were submitted this month. I wasn’t pursuing guest posts for my blog since it was the first active month of publishing posts on my blog so I decided to create content myself increasing my brand.

Blogging Interviews August 2014

This part of my blog is doing really well with many top bloggers providing their support in answering my interview questions.

In August 2014, I’ve published the following interview series…

Meet Michelle of

New Blog Features

Recently, I started adding epic case studies to my blog. These case studies offer an in-depth look into strategic link building. The main focus of my case studies is “ranking” either keywords or YouTube videos. I’m currently involved in building my very own PBN (private blog network) to rank “targeted” keywords to increase organic traffic. I’ve added it to my “Blog Features” section since it is a featured case study. You can read the overview here…

Top Traffic Sources August 2014

My main traffic source for the month of August 2014 was He has been awesome throughout the last couple months providing both guidance and support. Recently, he published my blog in his monthly Income Roundup Report. This alone generated 203 visitors! Again, a huge thanks to Matthew Woodward for providing his support and inspiration.

Next, a few months back I had done some experiments with forum posting. It’s amazing that 47 visitors were referred directly by making it my 2nd most valuable traffic source.

Social Media Statistics August 2014

This month (August 2014) I experienced a drop in social shares. I’m beginning to figure out what it takes to increase user engagement and it has “everything” to do with writing unique high quality content. For example, when I started to put together my Private Blog Network Case Study, I noticed my visitors are reading more of my other content. However, another reason why I saw a huge decrease was I failed to actively “share” my content on Twitter, Facebook and Google +. The social shares I received this month I would contribute to returning visitors who are actively following my blog. The key should be to have new people follow & share your blog>content to increase the overall engagement.

I guess I have a new idea for a case study:)

Here’s a breakdown of my social shares statistics…

Last month (July 2014) I received:  (21 shares & 41 click-backs)

This month (August 2014) I received:  (7 shares & 5 click-backs)

Forum Posts & Statistics

I’ve held back from posting on forums in August 2014. I’ve been busy creating guest posts and videos for YouTube. I’ll probably get started in October 2014!

On a side note, you’ll notice from my referrals, has provided 47 visitors this month (August 2014). I believe this traffic was generated through forum posts a few months back.

Let’s get to the fun stuff!

My affiliate commission keeps on increasing which is amazing. My Private Blog Network Case Study is continuing to build momentum and add some cash in my pocket.

The additional affiliate commission which I’ve earned was through some of the products I’ve recommended to my readers when setting up their own private blog network.

A side note, I’ll review and create tutorial’s on products which I personally use and feel will help you guys. I will not encourage anyone to purchase products so that I can earn a commission. My content and tutorials are about growing your blog through hard work and dedication. When I review a product, it’s to show you how it’s helped me generate traffic to my blog or simplified the process of creating content.

My Final Thoughts…

August 2014 was a very active month since I’m hustling between 2-3 projects at one time. It was a learning experience since the Private Blog Network is making awesome progress (you’ll see at the end of September on 1st report). However, it has slowed me down on because I’m manually creating content for several websites at one time. This is the price I pay for wanting to do everything manually without the help of spin content software. However, you can use automated software for your content writing but make sure to use the strategy I’ve outlined in my PBN updates.

What’s next…

I’ve been intrigued with ranking factors which influence YouTube videos so have just started a “YouTube Case Study” which I’ll publish mid-October. Next, I’ve found an awesome way to find high authority websites which allow do-follow links and can definitely add leverage in ranking your “targeted” keywords. You’ll receive a complete breakdown once I’ve tested some of these strategies out.

Guest blogging is valuable and I’ve managed to occupy my time so much that I’ve completely forget about creating content for several of the blogs I guest post on regularly. I’ll continue to prioritize my time so I can sneak in a few guest posts throughout September and October.

Thanks again for being loyal readers and stay tune for some awesome updates, content and case studies!
